The top 6 Divisions are confirmed, but Divisions 7 and lower (highlighted in blue) are subject to change depending on team nominations. There were several team withdrawals and some last-minute nominations for new teams before the 2025 season, and we anticipate this may happen again in 2026.

For Division 7 and below, Hockey WA will again invite clubs to nominate which division they believe their teams should be placed in (along with reasons for any requested change). HWA will consider each request on a case-by-case basis, noting the principles outlined in Bylaw 9 – Promotion & Relegation.

MASTERS COMPETITION

O35 Women:   The Promotion/Relegation table will be used for these divisions, noting that some teams that played in O50 Div 2 will return to the O35s in 2026.

O50 Women:   2025 was a transition year, with the establishment of the O50 Div 2 competition. For 2026, HWA aims to have 2 divisions composed solely of O50 teams.

O40 Men:   There has been a substantial decline in the number of teams in the Men's O40 divisions over recent years. A meeting of O40 teams recommended that the Men’s O40 teams should be incorporated into the Metro competition for 2026. As these teams may change with the addition of younger players in the Metro competition, clubs will be asked to nominate which division they believe their teams should be placed in. This will be considered, along with the ladder positions from 2025, when organising the Metro divisions for 2026.

O50 Men:   The Promotion/Relegation table will be used for the Men’s O50 divisions, subject to team nominations or withdrawals.

O60 Men:   After discussion with representatives from the O60 teams, HWA intends to start 2026 with 2 divisions. After all teams have played each other in the first round, they will be regraded into 3 divisions. All teams in each division will then play each other twice.

METROPOLITAN COMPETITION

There was a lot of discussion about the Women's Metro Competition in 2025, and it was agreed that there would be a regrading period after the 5^th round in 2026, similar to the Junior competition. The table online will be used as a starting point, and teams will be asked to nominate which division they believe their teams should be placed in (along with reasons for any requested change).

The Men's Metro Competition will include most of the teams from the O40 Masters as outlined above. Clubs will be asked to nominate which division they believe their teams should be placed in. This will be considered, along with the ladder positions from 2025, when organising the Metro divisions for 2026.
