Hockey WA are now taking nominations for players wishing to be considered for the 2023 U21 State Teams.

These trials will be used to select one (1) team per gender to compete at the U21 Australian Championships to be held in Sydney, NSW from 22-29 March 2023.

To be eligible to nominate for U21 State selection a player must be born after 01/01/2002.

All athletes who nominate for the U21 State Team Trials will be provided with a physical conditioning program in preparation for the trials in January.

Please note: Hockey WA are currently working with the Malaysian Hockey Confederation for a series against the Malaysian U21 Men's Team in Perth from Friday 20 – Monday 30 January 2023. An extended squad will be selected following Trial 2 and the series will be part of the selection process for the U21 Men's Team. To prepare for the extra load, two training sessions prior to the trials have been added for athletes who nominate. A third trial may be added pending confirmation of the series.

Athletes will be notified of their progression via the Hockey WA website. Players are expected to attend all subsequent trials and training sessions should they be successful in progressing through the selection process.
