The Hockey WA Under 12 Development program is back!

The 2023 Under 12 Development program with Kookaburra Chris Ciriello as the Lead Coach aims to support players with pre-season turf training sessions + preparations for State teams selection trials. 

Purpose

• Pre-season program designed to improve those players aspiring to get better and to prepare them for their club season
• Preparation of players for the selection trials of the 2023 School Sport of WA Under 12s boys and girls teams (SSWA 12s) in April 2023 and Hockey WA State Under 13 boys and girls teams in July 2023 
• Individual skill development and physical literacy
• Exposure to our Olympic hockey surface at the Perth Hockey Stadium
• Viewing of the Hockeyroos v China series on 25 & 26 March 2023

General Information

• Saturday 11 March 2023 to Saturday 1 April 2023 
• Double header Saturday / Sunday sessions on 18/19 March and 25/26 March 2023
• Open to boys and girls born in 2011, 2012 and 2013
• Maximum capacity of 120 players (60 boys and 60 girls)
• Specific GK Development Program 
• Cost: $299 per person

Development Program Package

• 6 session pre-season hockey program 
• Elite athlete workshop / question and answer 
• Bonus additional nutrition workshop 
• Total of 15+ hours contact time

Program Content

• The key focuses of the program are technical development, goal shooting, physical literacy and game sense 
• Athletes will train in groups of 10-12 to maximise touches of the ball and individual skill development
• Exposure to international hockey at the Perth Hockey Stadium

• Warm up and physical literacy development    
• Technical skill development - demonstration and practice
• Turf training sessions with a variety of drills teaching essential skills  
• Small sided games with technical skill focuses
• Warm down and debrief
