Hockey WA is excited to announce an Under 23 Mens Invitational Tour to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 2 to 10 July 2023.

In 2023 a reciprocal arrangement has been established with the Malaysian Hockey Confederation (MHC) following three successful tours to Perth - two of the Malaysian Under 21 mens team (January and April 2023) and National Malaysian mens and womens indoor teams (April 2023) and a return tour to Malaysia by a Hockey WA Under 23 womens team from 21 to 28 May 2023.

The Tour will include 4 matches in seven days in Kuala Lumpur with daily training sessions + cultural tours. 

The majority of the costs will be subsidised by the MHC and Hockey WA. The cost to the selected athletes will only be $1,600 + spending money.

The off field team will consist of a Head Coach, Assistant Coach, Team Manager and Physiotherapist.

Selection

Athletes aged 23 years and under are invited to nominate.

Hockey WA will select those athletes considered to be at the required level to be competitive against the Under 21 Malaysian Junior Mens team.

The final team selection will be at the discretion of Hockey WA.

Nominations from interested athletes close at 12 Noon on Thursday 15 June 2023. The travelling group will be confirmed no later than COB on Monday 19 June 2023.

Travel

Subject to flight availability, we anticipate that selected athletes will only miss one game of their 2023 club hockey commitments namely Round 15, Thursday 6 July 2023 or Tuesday 11 July 2023.

Please consider the compulsary requirement of a valid Australia passport for international travel from 2 to 10 July 2023 to Malaysia.
