Hockey WA is excited to announce an Open age mens and womens Invitational International Tour to Ipoh, Malaysia from 4 to 12 November 2023.

In 2023 a reciprocal arrangement has been established with the Malaysian Hockey Confederation (MHC) following 4 successful tours to Perth - two of the Malaysian Under 21 mens team (January and April 2023) and National Malaysian mens and womens indoor teams (April 2023) and a return tour to Malaysia by a Hockey WA Under 23 womens team from 21 to 28 May and a successful HWA Under 23 mens team from 3 - 11 July 2023.

Since our successful tours we have been invited to participate in an inaugural international indoor competition in Malaysia. The following teams are participating in the competition.

The Tour will include many matches in seven days in Ipoh with daily games, video sessions + cultural tours. 

The majority of the costs will be subsidised by the MHC, The sultan of Ipoh and Hockey WA. The cost to the selected athletes will only be $1,280.00 for adminsitration, insurance and off field support + your personally purchased flight.

Uniform will be included for the trip. 

The off field team will consist of a Head Coach, Assistant Coach/ Team Manager.

Selection

Athletes any age years and under are invited to nominate.

Hockey WA will select those athletes considered to be at the required level to be competitive against International teams. 

The final team selection will be at the discretion of coaches and Hockey WA.

Nominations from interested athletes close at 12 Noon on Tuesday 10 October 2023. The travelling group will be confirmed no later than COB on Wednesday 18 October 2023.

Travel

Subject to flight availability, we will look to have all traveling parties from around Australia arrive at similar time to all travel down to Ipoh togehter.  This will be arrive on the 4th / 5th of November for a 6th start to the tournamnet. 

Please consider the compulsary requirement of a valid Australia passport for international travel from 4 to 12 November 2023 to Malaysia.
