2025 Under 16 State Teams Trial Nominations

Hockey WA are now taking nominations for players wishing to be considered for the 2025 State Under 16 mens and womens teams.
Under 16 Nationals in Adelaide – 29 March 2025 to 7 April 2025
There will be three trials used to select two (2) teams per gender to compete at the Australian Under 16 Championships to be held in Adelaide, South Australia from Monday 31st March 2025 to Monday 7th April 2025.
The Under 16 Nationals are held earlier in 2025 and they will be during term 1 of the school year.
If selected, players will be required to obtain the written approval from their parents and their school to attend.
The four WA State teams will depart Perth on the morning of Saturday 29 March 2025 and return late on Monday 7 April 2025.
The cost per player will be in excess of $3,500 which will include flights, 4 star accommodation, transportation and meals.
To be eligible to nominate for the 2025 State Under 16 mens and womens teams a player must be born after 01/01/2009.

The 2025 State 16s mens and womens trials are designed to minimise the travel time for country athletes travelling to Perth.

Selection Details
Following Trial 1A and 1B, Hockey WA will invite 60 players in each gender to attend Trial 2A and 2B.
Trial 3A and 3B is by invitation only with 40 players per gender invited. Trial 3B may not be required if Selectors are satisfied with team at this point.
Players will be invited via the Hockey WA website.
Players are expected to attend all subsequent trials and training sessions should they be successful in progressing through the selection process.
