In March and April 2025 the Perth Thundersticks Academy will offer a series of training programs to prepare players for the upcoming season and the WA State teams selection trials.

The PTX Academy East Hub is designed for the development of athletes in the eastern region of the Perth Metropolitan area and it will be based at the new Dayton hockey turf which is the home of the Ellenbrook Falcons and teh Blades Hockey Clubs. 

This training program is open to anyone wanting to develop their skills outside the club development programs and it will run for four weeks on Wednesday mornings in March and April 2025.

Training Focus

• Stick and Ball- essential skill refinement
• Mini Games- in close decision making strategies
• Specialist Skills- Goal scoring, PC Development, Shootouts
• Match Preparation and Post Match Recovery
• Positional Education and expectations
• Goalkeeper training will be incorporated into training sessions. The training for goalkeepers during these sessions will foucs on repetitive efforts and developing their first touch and clearance work.
