In March 2025 the Perth Thundersticks Academy will offer a series of 6 week training programs to prepare players for the upcoming season and WA State team selection trials.

The Academy North is targeted for the development of players in the north region of the Perth Metropolitan areas and it will be based at the Warwick Turf, which is the home of the Whitford Hockey Club. 

This training program is open to all players wanting to develop their skills outside the club development programs and it will run for six weeks on Tuesday and Thursday mornings in March and April 2025.

Training Focus

• Stick and Ball- essential skill refinement
• Mini Games- in close decision making strategies
• Specialist Skills- Goal scoring, PC Development, Shootouts
• Match Preparation and Post Match Recovery
• Positional Education and expectations
• Goalkeeper training will be incorporated into training sessions. The training for goalkeepers during these sessions will foucs on repetitive efforts and developing their first touch and clearance work.

• Notepad and Pen

Training Cost:

1 session a week (can be either Tuesday or Thursday) - $220 for 6 weeks training

2 sessions a week - $400 for 6 weeks training
