In March 2025 the Perth Thundersticks Academy will offer a series of multiple week training programs to prepare players for the upcoming season and WA State team selection trials.

The Academy West hub program is targeted for the development of players in the west region of the Perth Metropolitan areas and it will be based at the Hale Turf, which is the home of the Hale Hockey Club. 

This training program is open to all players wanting to develop their skills outside the club development programs and it will run for four weeks on Tuesday and Thursday mornings in March and April 2025.

Training Focus

• Stick and Ball- essential skill refinement
• Mini Games- in close decision making strategies
• Specialist Skills- Goal scoring, PC Development, Shootouts
• Match Preparation and Post Match Recovery
• Positional Education and expectations
• Goalkeeper training will be incorporated into training sessions. The training for goalkeepers during these sessions will foucs on repetitive efforts and developing their first touch and clearance work.

• Protective gear/ sunscreen

• White and colour shirt
• Notepad and Pen

Training Cost:

1 session a week (can be either Tuesday or Thursday) - $140 for 4 weeks training

2 sessions a week - $280 for 4 weeks training
