Hockey WA launch the 2021 Perth Thundersticks Academy

Published Wed 17 Mar 2021

Hockey WA are proud to announce the launch of the 2021 Perth Thundersticks Academy.

Despite the challenges of COVID-19 last year, the program was a resounding success and in 2021 will once again be led by internationally renowned coach Des King.

“We’ve assembled a very impressive stable of highly-qualified and experienced coaches with Olympic and World Cup exposure who are all looking forward to contributing to the exciting junior development program at Hockey WA," King says.

“The success of the recent Ric Charlesworth Classic as well as new junior tournaments like the 2020 Future Thundersticks Classic has seen unprecedented numbers of players nominate for State trials in WA," Hockey WA's General Manager of Talent Development and Asian Engagement, Dean Evans says.

“The Thundersticks Academy will continue to provide our budding young stars with a very rounded program focused on both hockey development and life experience in an enjoyable environment.”
