2024 CBH Group Men's Country Championships Wrap

Bunbury & Districts Hockey Association have pulled off a Country Championship three-peat after edging out rivals Upper Great Southern Hockey Association to come out as the 2024 CBH Group Men’s Country Champions.
The 2024 CBH Group Men’s Country Championships took over Perth Hockey Stadium from Friday 21 June to Sunday 23 June, providing plenty of excitement across the grounds.
Across the three Open Divisions and a Masters division, the Grand Finals were very close, with some determined via shoot-outs.
After going through the pool stage undefeated, Upper Great Southern Hockey Association found themselves lined up for a 2023 Grand Final rematch against Bunbury & Districts Hockey Association, who defeated Geraldton Hockey Association in the Semi-Final.
Both sides put up strong showings, with the scores level at 1 goal apiece, forcing the final into shootouts.
While both teams were neck and neck, Bunbury prevailed 4-3 in shootouts to claim their third consecutive CBH Group Men’s Country Championship in a row.
Bunbury & Districts Hockey Association also featured in a tight contest with cross-town rivals Busselton Hockey Association in the Division 2 Grand Final.
Neither side could be separated during the regulated game time, drawing level at two goals apiece before going into shootouts.
Busselton edged out Bunbury 3-2 in another nail-biting shootout to win the Division 2 Grand Final.
Pilbara Krocs pulled off a perfect tournament run to claim the Division 3 Championship, defeating Margaret River Hockey Association 2-0 in the Grand Final.
The Krocs won all of their pool stage matches against Avon Hockey Association, Eastern Districts Hockey Association, Eastern Goldfields Hockey Association 3, and Upper Great Southern Hockey Association to book an express pass to the Grand Final.
Margaret River also had a strong showing in their pool stage matches, with wins over Central Great Southern Hockey Association, Eastern Goldfields Hockey Association 2, and Esperance Hockey Association.
Upper Great Southern Hockey Association took home the Masters Division Championship without dropping a game, blitzing through the Round Robin stage with wins over Busselton, Eastern Districts, Geraldton & WA Country and a 0-0 draw with Esperance.
Upper Great Southern eventually met Geraldton in the Grand Final, where Upper Great Southern prevailed 2-0.
