Stars set to shine in Hockey WA’s “world’s best” All Flags Premier League
Published Wed 24 Mar 2021
Hockey WA’s 2021 All Flags Premier League has officially been launched ahead of the start of the men’s season on Thursday 25 March.
Arguably the world’s best club hockey competition, the 2021 All Flags Premier League men’s and women’s season consists of 222 games plus the finals series - with 40 matches to be live streamed to fans all over the world, through Hockey WA’s YouTube and Facebook platforms.
WA-based players from the Australian Kookaburras and Hockeyroos squads will be drafted into the competitions, giving members of the public the opportunity to watch Olympic athletes up close and personal before they depart for Tokyo.
The All Flags Premier League competition is sure to be fast-paced and competitive, with players who were recently named in the Perth Thundersticks squads looking to secure a spot in teams for the Sultana Bran Hockey One League competition staged later this year.
"The All Flags Premier League is a wonderful competition and we're delighted to have All Flags join our family as naming-rights partners," Hockey WA CEO Fabian Ross said.
"We can't wait to see what season 2021 brings, and of course see some world-class players on the field across Perth.
"The men's and women's 2021 All Flags Premier League seasons are going to be wonderful showcases of our sport and we encourage all sports fans to get involved and witness hockey history."
The 2021 Men’s All Flags Premier League competition starts on Thursday 25 March, with a grand final rematch between Old Aquinians and UWA. The women’s All Flags Premier League season commences on Friday 16 April.
