ISSUE #2

By ALL FLAGS PREMIER LEAGUE INSIDER

The All Flags Premier League Men has kicked off in style with the remainder of Round 2 fixtures scheduled around the Easter weekend. Victoria Park Xavier and Reds have taken maximum points from their outings and currently sit on top of the ladder. Hale and Melville City will be seeking to join them when they play their coming matches.

Whilst results from the first two matches can’t necessarily speak to what the entire season will hold, the fact that Whitford have already scored more than half the number of goals they scored in the entire 2020 season in their first two fixtures certainly bodes well for them in their push to solidify their All Flags Premier League status.

The most exciting aspect of the season so far is the number of Field Goals being scored. Whilst Penalty Corners have often been a necessary ingredient in obtaining desirable results, there have been 26 Field Goals scored in the 10 matches to date making for extremely entertaining viewing for our spectators. This also adds excitement to discussions around leading goal scorers when a number of players all currently sit on the same number of goals.

The notable exception is the All Flags Signs and Banners Player of the Week, James Day (Melville), who scored all 4 of his Penalty Corner attempts against Wesley South Perth and will be looking to take an even bigger advantage when Melville City take on Fremantle Cockburn on Tuesday 6th April. Meanwhile, three-time Eric Pearce Top Goal scorer recipient, and current holder, Liam Flynn (Hale) will be seeking to close the gap when they play Westside Wolves on Thursday 1st April.
