Hockey WA CEO, Fabian Ross, says the proximity of Australia’s High-Performance Program allows WA’s top-tier competition to boast some of the best hockey on offer.
“We’re really fortunate to have some of the world’s best hockey players right here in our backyard in Perth with the Australian National High-Performance program based at Perth Hockey Stadium,” Ross said.
“We are in a unique position in having one of the World’s best domestic competitions – I’m extremely excited to see what the 2022 season holds.
“After an amazing 2021 season, I’m certain the Premier League will reach new heights and I encourage all sports fans to get behind and witness hockey at its best.”
General Manager of Game and Community Development at Hockey WA, Shayley McGurk Davy, says it’s exciting for WA’s top-tier competition to have a mix of bright up and coming and established stars.
“There is a great mix of young players looking to impress plus Hockeyroos and Kookaburras who are set to take part in high-level competitions this year, endeavouring to perform to their best at a local level,” McGurk Davy said.
“Not only is it exciting for our local players but fans of hockey and sports alike have an elite-level competition, the best in Australia, right here in WA to follow.
“I’m sure the WA hockey faithful will get right behind our elite-level competition.”
This year, live streaming of Hockey WA’s Premier League will reach more viewers than ever before, with an exciting announcement set to come in the coming days.
