The CBH Group Country Championships returns for another year of memorable hockey, with the men’s competition commencing on Saturday 5 June at Perth Hockey Stadium at Curtin University.
The CBH Group Country Championships sees teams from across the state hit the Olympic-standard turf at Perth Hockey Stadium – the same turf as Australia’s Olympic sides - to represent their region on the big stage.
Teams come from as far as the Pilbara, all the way down to the state’s south-west in Albany, for a festival of hockey, with this year’s men’s championships consisting of twenty teams across thirteen separate areas across Western Australia.
The CBH Group Country Championships is a unique event, giving hockey players from across WA the chance to meet and compete against players from opposite areas of the state – and with the Pilbara Krocs and Esperance in the same division – a total distance of 1,971 kilometres between the sides will be wiped to zero when they meet at Perth Hockey Stadium.
The tournament kicks off with a Division three double-header, with Busselton facing Roe Districts on PHS-1 and Eastern Districts taking on the Pilbara Krocs on PHS-2.
Upper Great Southern will look to repeat defend their title from the last CBH Group Country Championships, with a tough match-up against Eastern Goldfields on Saturday proving to be a challenging start.
Don’t miss any of the action – it’s a festival of hockey for fans to feast on.
