CBH Group Men's Country Championships kick off this weekend

Get ready for an exhilarating weekend as Perth Hockey Stadium plays host to the highly anticipated return of the CBH Group Men’s Country Championships, drawing hundreds of regional hockey players to showcase their skills.

From the tranquil vistas of the Great Southern to the rugged landscapes of the Pilbara, a diverse array of 27 hockey teams from across the state's regions will vie for regional glory from Friday, 21 June to Sunday 23 June.

The Men’s tournament will feature three Open Divisions and a Masters Division, with all matches set to be played across Perth Hockey Stadium’s two turfs.

For the first two days of the three-day tournament, matches will kick off from 8.00am with the last matches of the day being played at 6.00pm.

The final day will see matches kick off from 8.00am with the last matches of the tournament being played at 2.20pm.

All matches played on PHS-1 on Sunday 23 June will be broadcast LIVE and FREE on Streamer.

Division 1 will feature five teams, with Geraldton Hockey Association joining defending champions Bunbury & Districts Hockey Association along with the returning Eastern Goldfields Hockey Association, Lower Great Southern Hockey Association, and Upper Great Southern Hockey Association.

Bunbury & Districts Hockey Association will be competing to win a three-peat after winning back-to-back championships last year.

Division 2 will feature six teams, with Roe Districts Hockey Association joining defending champions Upper Great Southern Hockey Association and the returning Avon, Bunbury & Districts Hockey Association, Busselton Hockey Association and Eastern Districts Hockey Association.

Division 3 will feature 10 teams, split into two pool groups during the Round Robin stage of the tournament.

Avon, Eastern Districts Hockey Association, Upper Great Southern Hockey Association, Central Great Southern Hockey Association, Esperance Hockey Association, Margaret River, and Miling all returning to the competition.

Eastern Goldfields Hockey Association also returns, this time featuring two teams in Division 3.

Pilbara Krocs will also join Division 3.

The Masters division features six teams in defending champions Upper Great Southern, Busselton, Eastern Districts and Esperance, who will be joined by Geraldton and a WA Country side.
