CBH Group Women's Country Champs sees divisions at deadlock

The CBH Group Women’s Country Championships has kicked off in style at Perth Hockey Stadium at Curtin University, with the first day shaping the tournament to have a tight finish.
It’s an extremely close race towards top position in Division 1, with LGSHA sitting in the pole position, with only a 0-0 draw and 1-0 victory securing the top spot – a total of six draws across seven matches thus far in the division leaving the top spot up for grabs.
The stacked Division 2 sees Roe Districts sit at the top after day one, with 3-0 and 2-1 drubbings against Ongerup and Bunbury respectively seeing them crowned the team to beat heading into day two.
Division 3 sees five teams in Avon, CWLHA, Warren, CMCHA and Collie share the pole position after a day of extremely tight contest across the division.
Mortlock, NMWHA and UGSHA 2 lead the Division 4 standings, with Mortlock powering their way through 2-0 and 5-0 wins with opposition attacks unable to see the ball hit the back of the net.
CMCHA 2 ;eads Division 5, with a win over LGSHA 2 and a draw with Ongerup 2 securing the stop spot – LGSHA 2 sit on their heels with a 3-1 win over Donnybrook giving them a chance to snatch the top position.
In the Masters Division 1, teams have only played the one game thus far, but it’s Mortlock 2 who lead the division after a strong 4-1 win over RDHA 3.
The Masters Division 2 sees Esperance dominate the division, after 3-0 wins over Peel 2 and Warren 2, with the side looking likely to head to the big dance after the drubbings of sides thus far.
