Classic weekend in store for indoor

The Hockey WA Indoor Classic, proudly supported by the Shire of Northam, is set to shine in Northam from 8 to 9 October – and nominations are closing Monday 12 September.

Hockey WA has listened to feedback from prospective participants and consolidated the fixtures across the weekend of Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 October, giving players and spectators alike the opportunity to experience elite-level indoor hockey and explore the region.

The new tournament is set to not only bring high-quality sporting excitement to the region but also challenge the sport’s brightest female and male stars from across Australia and further afield.

The inaugural Hockey WA Indoor Hockey Classic will feature four men’s teams and four women’s teams, including some of the world’s top-tier players, who’ll battle for top honours and trophies in a competition that is set to capture significant national and international attention.

Athletes are to RSVP their availability for the tournament, with teams to be curated through a draft process on Wednesday 14 September, with coaches of each respective side selecting their teams from the pool of players nominated.

From the pool of players, four teams in both the men’s and women’s competition will be selected, consisting of 10 players and two reserves, playing three rounds which will culminate in a finals series.
