Clubs ready to rumble in All Flags Premier League action

Published Wed 19 May 2021

The All Flags Premier league will continue to please, with the men’s round nine and women’s round six shaping up to be one of the most exciting yet.

A double-header between Vic Park and Wolves men’s and women’s sides will open the weekend on Friday night, with the two evening matches scheduled under lights at Curtin University.

The men’s match between the two is a middle-of-the-table clash, Vic Park placed fourth, and Wolves placed fifth, while in the women’s Vic Park will look to maintain their red-hot form against their fifth placed counterparts.

Saturday in the men’s All Flags Premier League will see Reds play Hale at home and Melville, who are yet to lose a match, will take on tenth-placed Old Guildfordians.

Last weekend the Hale men faced University of WA and had a 5-2 loss, the visitors proving too good for a strong Hale side.

Another double fixture between UWA and YMCC will play out the remaining men’s match fixtured for the day and commence the women’s Saturday matches.

Lions women will take on Melville in the afternoon at Lemnos, with both teams raring for redemption after losing and drawing their respective matches last week.

Later in the weekend on Sunday, Fremantle Cockburn and Whitford will line up at Lakelands Hockey Facility in the men's competition, and Hale will look to repeat their success when they head to Warwick to play North Coast Raiders in the women's.

Both the men’s and women’s WASPs and Curtin teams will battle it out in a Perth Hockey Stadium derby on Sunday afternoon, WASPs sitting above Curtin in both the men’s and the women’s standings.
