Context Capital partners with Perth Thundersticks' Malan
Published Fri 01 Jul 2022
Perth Thundersticks star Line Malan has officially become the first squad member signed through the Player Partnership Program – with Perth-based boutique investment group Context Capital supporting not only her journey but the sport of hockey throughout the state.
The assistance provided through the Player Partnership Program quite literally helps the game at all levels – sponsorship feeding directly to individual players like Line; clubs; and the state development at junior and senior level.
“We are really proud to support Line, the Perth Thundersticks and hockey throughout Western Australia,” Context Capital’s Principal Consultant Chris West says.
“We look forward to attending the Perth Thundersticks’ matches as part of our partnership, and cheering the teams and Line on, knowing we are lending a hand.”
The $2500 support through each Player Partnership Program is divided across 10% to the nominated player’s club; 15% to the Future Thundersticks; 25% to the nominated player directly; and 50% to the Thundersticks program to help fund the elite-level development.
All players selected in the 2022 Perth Thundersticks squads are available for sponsorship, with the support assisting the athletes on their journey to the Hockey One League and/or Australian selection (irrespective of whether a player is selected in the final Thundersticks squad).
“I’m really thankful to Context Capital for the support,” Line, whose journey to the Thundersticks was documented on Hockey WA’s website last year, says.
“It’s a great help to have that bit of extra financial assistance through the Player Partnership Program, to not only help me on my journey but the other players too.
“I encourage businesses around the state to get behind the Perth Thundersticks Player Partnership Program and show their support for both the other squad members and, most importantly, the sport overall too.”
