CSBP Carnival hits Narrogin for school-aged hockey fun

Published Wed 18 Aug 2021

The CSBP Wheatbelt Schools Carnivals has kicked-off with a visit to Narrogin in the Upper Great Southern Hockey Association, seeing over 100 students from the region compete in a festival of hockey, driving participation in the sport.

Seven teams competed across two division, a boys division and a mixed division, with St Matthews Primary School and Narrogin Primary School claiming the top prize in the boys and mixed divisions respectively.

Perth Thundersticks, Hockeyroos and WA hockey legend Penny Squibb was a special guest for the carnival, sharing her tricks of the trade with the next generation of hockey stars from the region, as well as sharing the love with signatures and photo opportunities on offer to the students.

Healthy Halftimes activations and competitions provided fun for the students in the break, with key learnings on choosing the right Fuel To Go & Play providing a valuable opportunity for kids to practice healthy habits and take their game to the next level.

With over 50 spectators there to cheer on the students, the day provided a fantastic opportunity to expose hockey to the next generation of athletes in the region and drive a love for hockey going forward.

Thanks goes to CSBP for their support on a fantastic initiative. Visit CSBP’s website here.
