The Fuel to Go and Play J11/12 Championships for 2021, held at Perth Hockey Stadium at Curtin University, will attract some of the state’s best emerging male and female hockey talent.

The Fuel to Go and Play J11/12 Championships, played from Tuesday 6 April until Thursday 8 April, will feature boys’ and girls’ metropolitan and regional teams.

Geraldton, Lower Great Southern Hockey Association and Eastern Goldfields teams will feature in the three-day super tournament, lining up against a range of Perth metropolitan sides including Victoria Park, Hale, Joondalup, Reds and Kalamunda.

The tournament format, played across 15-minute quarters, sees each team play round-robin matches prior to a finals series.

“We are most excited for the Fuel to Go and Play J11/12 Championships and seeing the next generation of star players continue to develop their skills and test themselves against some of the best athletes across the state,” Hockey WA CEO Fabian Ross said.

“Not only does the Fuel to Go and Play J11/12 Championships encourage the development of the on-field performance, but also the off-field components too, with healthy eating and off-field habits a focus across the tournament.

“We look forward to a memorable few days of competition.”

Fuel to Go & Play is about choosing the right fuels for the best performance. Preparation is best done with healthy meals in the lead up to the champs, packing fresh fruit for snacks and choosing water to hydrate before, during and after your games.
