The Perth Thundersticks’ final home double header of the 2022 Sultana Bran Hockey One League season, presented by Brightside Live, is almost here… with BOTH our men’s and women’s sides going well but in need of your support in their clashes against the Tassie Tigers! We want and need you to cheer on our teams to glory in our final home match of the season as they prepare to farewell for life on the road – we need you and your crew here at PHS, in numbers and loud and proud!

Our third home double header of the season takes place this Saturday October 29 – and we want all of Western Australia showing their support of our elite-level open-age men’s and women’s sides!

Our double header against the Tassie Tigers will also include big-screen and MC tributes and thanks to all our state representatives teams across the season.

Here is everything you need to know ahead of our third and final home double header of the 2022 Sultana Bran Hockey One League season. This match represents the last chance the WA public has to watch the Thundersticks live – the final match of the regular season for the Thundersticks is on the road against the Canberra Chill on Saturday November 5 in the nation’s capital, before the finals take place!

 

Where are the Perth Thundersticks’ home matches being played?

All home Perth Thundersticks matches are played at Perth Hockey Stadium at Curtin University.

When are the Thundersticks’ home matches and when do gates open?

Double headers featuring both male and female matches are played on the following dates.

  • Saturday October 29 v Tassie Tigers, commencing at 4:30pm (women then men)

Gates open one hour before push back of the first match, with the second match commencing 1.5 hours after the first (i.e. the second match on October 15 commences at 6pm). Matches are run in three-hour windows.

What is the cost of entry and how do I purchase tickets? How do I enter? Can I get a pass out?

Diamond tickets get ticket holders reserved and allocated seating in the lower Grandstand; Thunder Hill tickets provide access to unreserved access to the hill on the eastern, northern and southern ends of Perth Hockey Stadium.

Kids under 18 are free, with kids under 16 also free however required to be accompanied by a paying adult.

Entrance is via the main gate on the western side of the stadium, between PHS-1 and PHS-2.

Pass outs will be available for those wishing to exit and re-enter the stadium, however please consult security before leaving to obtain the relevant requirements.

 

What restrictions are there in the stadium in regards to what I can bring?

There are some understandable restrictions around what can and can’t be brought in to Perth Hockey Stadium at Curtin University.

  • No dogs
  • No smoking or vaping
  • No BYO alcohol
  • No skateboards or bikes

Bag checking will be in operation.

 

Car parking – is there any available?

Parking is plentiful around the stadium, however is strictly on a first-come, first-served basis. Parking is run by Curtin University and is free on weekends. Park in allocated bays only – Curtin University will issue penalty notices for vehicles parked illegally such as on kerbs or across entrances and access points. The first four rows of parking nearest the Stadium are reserved for VIPs and the small Hockey WA staff car park is strictly for Hockey WA staff only and will be in constant use.

 

What food and beverage options are available?

The usual food and beverage options will be available throughout the event in the PHS Bar and Canteen located on the eastern side of the turf, behind the lower Grandstand. Alcoholic drinks to be taken on to Thunder Hill will need to be in cans or bottles.

There will be no access to the Bar and Canteen from the grandstand concourse. Access will via the alfresco area only, the northern end of the bar. There will be no seating available in the canteen area in order to aid free access for patrons.

 

Will official Perth Thundersticks merchandise be available to purchase at the game?

Yes! An official merchandise tent will be located inside the venue, near to the main entrance. A range of exclusive Perth Thundersticks supporter clothing items will be available for purchase (via card only) from 4pm onwards. Adult & child sizes are available but stock is strictly limited.

 

Is there an alcohol-free zone at Perth Hockey Stadium at Curtin University?

The southern end of Perth Hockey Stadium at Curtin University is alcohol-free.  

I can’t make it to the game – can I watch online or on TV?

The entire Sultana Bran Hockey One League season is live-streamed/broadcast through Kayo, with select matches each week broadcast on Fox Sports. Check your local guides. This match, though, represents the last chance the WA public has to watch the Thundersticks live – the final match of the regular season for the Thundersticks is on the road against the Canberra Chill before the finals take place.
