Flames and Malaysian Sports School lead Hockey WA Gryphon Cup action

The Hockey WA Gryphon Cup continues to soar at Perth Hockey Stadium at Curtin University and Aquinas Turf, with a thrilling competition in play that’s set to deliver a scintillating finals series on Sunday.
In the girls competition, the Flames have shined in their beginning to the competition, claiming three wins on the trot over the Lightning, Highlanders and Outbacks.
The Stars and the Waves are hot on their heels in equal second and third. T the girls competition remains wide open with wins being secured by just one-to-two goals difference.
The Malaysian Sports School side have dominated in the boys competition, winning all three of their matches with a goal difference of 12 – the next best at five for the Breakers in second place.
The Malaysian Sports School wins have seen them defeat the Outbacks 7-0, the Chris Ciriello Academy 2-1, while showcasing their strength again against the Lightning in a 4-0 victory.
Abby Davies of the Breakers leads the girls competition for most goals thus far with three to her name, while Nabil Yusof of the Malaysian Sports School boys has had a red hot opening to his account, scoring five goals from three matches.
The action continues at Perth Hockey Stadium at Curtin University and Aquinas Turf on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 November.
