Fuel to Go & Play Boys J7/8 Club Championship Wrap

Junior hockey clubs across Western Australia have continued to strut their stuff on the turf as the 2024 Fuel to Go & Play Club Championships rolls on.
Teams from across Western Australia gathered at Perth Hockey Stadium as the Boys J 7/8 Fuel to Go & Play Club Championships took place from Wednesday 3 July to Friday 5 July.
A total of 16 teams competed across three divisions in a series matches during the three-day tournament.
Four teams competed in Division 1, while six teams competed in Divisions 2 and 3 respectively.
In an intense Division 1 Grand Final, YMCC came up trumps over UWA, winning the Club Championship 5-0.
In Division 2, Upper Great Southern pulled off a perfect tournament run, winning every single one of their Pool matches and going on to pip WASPS 2-1 in the Grand Final to claim the Championship.
In Division 3, Eastern Goldfields narrowly defeated a formidable Geraldton side to win the Club Championship 1-0.
The tightly contested grand final was made all the more special with a large contingent of supporters making the journey from Geraldton and the Goldfields.
The Fuel to Go & Play Club Championships continues with the J9/10 Championships from Monday 8 July.
