Fuel to Go & Play Girls J7/8 Club Championships wrap

The talents of Western Australia’s junior hockey clubs are on show as the Fuel to Go & Play Club Championships return for 2024.
Teams from across Western Australia converged on Perth Hockey Stadium as the first of the Fuel to Go & Play Club Championships took place from Monday 1 July to Wednesday July 3.
A total of 11 teams competed in pool matches throughout the opening day of the J 7/8 Girls tournament before being split into two divisions based on their pool match performance.
The Division 1 Grand Final produced a thriller between Roe Districts and Whitford, with neither team able to be separated in regular time, forcing the contest into a shootout.
After an intense shootout, Whitford prevailed 0(3)-0(2).
It was also a nail-biting conclusion to the Division 2 competition, with Geraldton narrowly defeating Busselton 0(4)-0(2).
Neither team could be separated during regular time, forcing the final into shootouts.
The Fuel to Go & Play Club Championships continues with the J7/8 Boys Club Championships and J11/12 & Mixed Club Championships taking place this week, followed by the J9/10 Championships from Monday 8 July.
