Fuel To Go & Play J7/8 Championships delivers in Perth

The Fuel To Go & Play Boys J 7/8 Club Championships has concluded after a two-and-a-half day festival of hockey at Perth Hockey Stadium at Curtin University, where WA’s future hockey stars competed against players from around the state.

With 17 teams across three divisions, the Championships this year provided some thrilling results across the weekend, with three powerhouse sides ultimately claiming the gold in the Grand Finals.

In Division A, it was Victoria Park who ran away with a big victory in the Grand Final, defeating School Sport WA 4-0 in a strong performance by the side.

Vic Park went into the finals series with four wins across four matches and a goal difference of 14-1, showcasing the bright future for the club.

Reds Hockey Club secured the Grand Final win in Division B, after a 6-1 victory over Modernians.

Modernians pulled off an upset to reach the Grand Final, defeating equal first place WASPs 3-0 to meet Reds heading into the final match, but in the end, Reds were too strong for the side.

Division C went to Roe Districts, the dominant side of the division, after they reached the Grand Final with an unbeaten run and an 8-2 goal difference.

Roe Districts faced Central Midlands in the Grand Final, running away with a 5-1 victory to claim the title.
