The skills of Western Australia’s junior hockey clubs were once again on display as the second round of the Fuel to Go & Play Club Championships came to a close.
Teams from across Western Australia gathered at Lakelands Hockey & Sporting Facility and Melville Toyota Stadium as the Boys & Mixed J 11/12 Fuel to Go & Play Club Championships took place from Tuesday 2 July to Thursday 4 July.
Eight mixed teams and four Boys teams competed in a series of pool matches in their respective divisions, vying for a spot in the Grand Final.
WASPS pulled off a perfect tournament run to claim the Mixed Division Club Championship without dropping a single game after edging out Melville 1(2)-1(1) in a thrilling Grand Final.
Both sides were neck and neck throughout the three-day tournament, setting up an intense showdown for the Grand Final which like the Girls J7/8 Grand Finals, went to shootouts in an exciting contest.
The Boys Division saw another battle between teams that had not dropped a game during the pool stage, with Lower Great Southern coming out on top over Victoria Park 3-1 in a tight contest.
The Fuel to Go & Play Club Championships continues with the J7/8 Boys Club Championships wrapping up on Friday 5 July, followed by the J9/10 Championships from Monday 8 July.
