Healthway Hockey for Health competition relaunch
Published Wed 12 Aug 2020
Hockey WA, Healthway and True Sport relaunch Hockey for Health competition
Hockey WA relaunched the Hockey for Health competition this week, assisting clubs and associations by becoming healthier on and off the field.
In partnership with Healthway and True Sport, Hockey for Health rewards clubs and regional associations for delivering healthier outcomes for their hockey communities.
After a successful 2019 pilot program, this year’s Hockey for Health has been expanded to include a metropolitan club category, alongside the existing regional association category.
Across the key areas of health policies, governance, risk management and volunteers, clubs and associations can use Hockey WA’s resources to make healthier choices, winning great prizes in the process.
Healthway is dedicated to improving the health of all Western Australians and invests in partnerships and projects to support better health in the community.
Healthway CEO Susan Hunt PSM said the Hockey WA partnership was encouraging healthier hockey clubs and associations for players, members and volunteers to enjoy now and into the future.
“The Hockey for Health initiative supports healthy environments and provides opportunities for kids to participate in healthy activities,” said Ms Hunt.
“Many hockey clubs have already stepped up their efforts to create healthy club cultures and we’d love to see more clubs doing this in 2020.”
Hockey WA CEO Stu Gilsenan said the Hockey for Health competition was a win-win for all stakeholders.
“We are fortunate to have Healthway as a primary partner at Hockey WA and look forward to the Hockey for Health competition continuing to deliver healthy outcomes for clubs, associations and participants,” said Mr Gilsenan.
“We support our clubs to build leadership and sportsmanship and create fun, healthy environments to play hockey”.
The Hockey for Health Club Competition is open to all regional WA hockey associations and metropolitan clubs.
