Healthy competition due at Fuel To Go & Play Goldstix Carnival
Published Fri 05 Aug 2022
Junior hockey players and teams from across the Perth metropolitan region are set to compete in an exciting day of action when the Fuel To Go & Play Goldstix Carnival hits Alderbury Reserve in Floreat this Sunday 7 August.
The Fuel To Go & Play Goldstix Carnival provides a fun-filled day of hockey for players from Year 1 to Year 4, with five-a-side and seven-a-side matches giving maximum exposure and participation to players, driving development in the sport.
The carnival, proudly supported by Healthway, will feature 11 teams from across Perth.
Not only will the day comprise of a festival of hockey, through Healthway’s support, participants will be encouraged to choose the right Fuel To Go & Play, ensuring they can be their best – on and off the field.
“We are excited about the hockey participation opportunities the upcoming Fuel To Go & Play Goldstix Carnival provides to our youngest players,” Hockey WA General Manager Game and Community Development Shayley McGurk Davy says.
“Not only does the event provide great playing opportunities but it also provides great educational and healthy-eating messages too, through the wonderful support provided by Healthway and our Fuel To Go & Play partnership.
“We look forward to staging a wonderful, memorable and engaging Goldstix Carnival.”
Healthway and Lotterywest CEO Ralph Addis said sporting organisations, such as Hockey WA, were an ideal avenue to help promote healthy messages to young people across the State.
“Encouraging young people to eat healthily and make better food choices, which in turn gives them the right kind of energy they need to bring their A-game is paramount,” he said.
“Best of luck to all the teams involved in this weekend’s event.”
