Hockey For All Cup celebrates inclusivity in sport

Hockey WA’s commitment to inclusivity takes centre stage as it announces the inaugural Hockey For All Cup, supported by Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, APM and Hockey Australia.

This exciting event aims to promote the joy and benefits of hockey among players of all abilities, fostering a sense of community and teamwork.

The Hockey For All program is designed to support individuals with disabilities in experiencing the inclusive, fun, and safe environment of hockey.

Participants not only learn essential skills but also forge connections within their club’s hockey community.

The Hockey For All Cup, set to kick off on Friday 12 July at Perth Hockey Stadium, welcomes junior players aged 18 and under from diverse backgrounds and skill levels.

Players are encouraged to join this celebration of inclusivity, where camaraderie and sportsmanship take centre stage.

The event will coincide with the Fuel to Go & Play J 9/10 Club Championships, also taking place at Perth Hockey Stadium.

"We are thrilled to launch the Hockey For All Cup, a testament to our commitment to making hockey accessible to everyone," said Rebekah Yeow, Community and Growth Lead at Hockey WA.

"This event isn't just about competition; it’s about creating a supportive environment where every player can thrive."

Participants will compete in small-sided teams on quarter-size fields, with equipment provided by Hockey WA if needed. Supporters are invited to cheer from the sidelines and join in the post-match BBQ, enhancing the day's spirit of community and celebration.

• Who can attend: Junior players aged 18 and under, regardless of prior involvement in the Hockey For All program.
• Cost: Free of charge.
• Competition Format: Small-sided teams (5 or 7 a side) on quarter-size fields.
