Hockey for Health Hub powering the next generation

Published Thu 03 Jun 2021

Hockey WA, in partnership with Healthway, will take health messaging to new heights for the state’s next generation of hockey stars, with the release of the Hockey for Health Hub on Hockey WA’s website.

The Hockey for Health Hub is a one-stop shop that aims to empower and educate clubs and associations, and assist with implementing healthy food practices, ensuring budding young athletes are receiving exposure to healthier food options and behaviours to give them the Fuel to Go & Play

Hockey WA CEO Fabian Ross says the Hockey for Health Hub is a fantastic initiative that allows Hockey WA members and the general public access to the wonderful resources, to facilitate performance on and off the field, in the one location.

“The Hockey for Health Hub is a great resource for our members looking to improve their education, health and wellbeing and their club's canteen offerings,” Ross says.

“We’re excited to, with Healthway, create healthier behaviours in our members, and, of course, get everyone involved in some fun and games that improve the education process and deliver healthy outcomes.”

Healthway CEO Susan Hunt PSM said that Healthway is proud of its partnership with Hockey WA.

“The Hockey for Health Hub is one of the many initiatives that have emerged from our partnership with Hockey WA.  Hockey for Health builds members’ skills and awareness of healthy nutrition choices at the local club level and positions hockey as a leader in promoting healthy environments,” Ms Hunt said.

Another initiative, the Hockey for Health Competition, will see clubs go in the running to win some great prizes, providing an incentive to members to improve their club’s healthy practices both on and off the field.
