Narrogin set for hockey showcase

Hockey WA will head to the Upper Great Southern Hockey Association in Narrogin on Saturday 17 July to deliver a roadshow introducing  the Coach n Play platform, showcasing the ultimate hockey tool for players and coaches in the region.  

The Coach n Play workshop outlines and provides examples on how players and coaches can use the key Hockey WA coaching tool to develop individual players and build a successful team structure consistent with WA State Teams.  

Author and FIH Master Coach Terry Walsh  has built the platform utilising his vast coaching experience of Australia, Holland, India, USA and Malaysia.

Walsh will present Hockey WA’s Coach n Play website – a tool, available exclusively to Hockey WA members, that acts as a ‘hockey library’, full of coaching drills and tools in video format, easily accessible for players and coaches which, in return, will be utilised to develop the state’s next generation of hockey superstars.  

Hockey WA General Manager of Talent Development and Asian Engagement, Dean Evans, along with Performance and Development Coach Des King, will also conduct a presentation on the WA Game & Pathways.  

The WA Game & Pathways workshops discuss in-depth with players and coaches the Hockey in WA values, culture, vision, game-styles and structures, instilling a successful team approach and culture that aligns with Hockey WA’s high-performance programs.  

An Olympic Preview and Q&A is also on offer for coaches, with Olympic medallists Jamie Dwyer, Bevan George, Damon Diletti, Walsh and Evans on hand to talk through the invaluable experience with aspiring coaches.  

The workshop is free for all to attend and presents a unique opportunity for players and coaches in WA’s regional areas to experience high-level coaching education from some of hockey’s biggest names.
