Hockey WA COVID-19 Update I 30 April 2021
Published Fri 30 Apr 2021
Following yesterday’s announcement from the WA State Government regarding the easing of restrictions in the Perth metropolitan and Peel regions, from 12:01am Saturday 1 May, crowds will be allowed at indoor and outdoor community sport.
Spectators will be back to the hockey from Saturday, with venues able to return to pre-lockdown conditions with some minor restrictions still in place.
Masks will be mandatory for indoor public venues, including club rooms and change rooms. Masks do not need to be worn outside but they must be worn if physical distancing can not be achieved – spectators; if you can’t adhere to the 1.5m physical distancing requirements, wear a mask.
Hockey WA advises all members to take a mask with them when leaving the house, as you may be unable to adhere to physical distancing measures and will require one if so.
The two square metre capacity rule will apply to indoor public venues, including club rooms, change rooms and other indoor facilities. Venues need to be cognisant of the size of their change rooms before making them available to teams.
Hockey WA advises all members to continue to sign in using the SafeWA app and physical registers, while still adhering to personal hygiene measures.
Clubs and associations are advised to continue avoiding the sharing of playing equipment (PC masks etc.), as well as water bottles and food.
If you are unwell or have any symptoms, stay home and get tested.
Hockey WA would like to thank all its members, players, officials and stakeholders in this fast-evolving environment and we look forward to seeing you at the hockey this weekend.
