Hockey WA COVID-19 Update I 5 July 2021

Published Mon 05 Jul 2021

Hockey WA advises that, in line with the WA State Government’s recent announcement regarding the easing of COVID-19 post-lockdown restrictions from 12:01am Tuesday 6 July, that new restrictions will be in place until 12:01am Monday 12 July.

Spectators are permitted at community sport – including hockey matches and training scheduled during this period. Spectators will be permitted in line with the 150-person limit and two-square-metre rule.

Masks remain mandatory indoors, and outdoors when it is not possible to physically distance. They are no longer mandatory outdoors where it is possible to remain physically distanced from others.

Players and officials don’t require a mask whilst participating in vigorous physical exercise.

Hockey WA strenuously encourages everyone to follow the new WA State Government Guidelines, including:

  • Masks will remain mandatory for indoor public venues, unless exempt for medical reasons and for primary school aged children or younger;
  • The two-square-metre capacity rule applies to indoor venues;
  • Spectators are limited to 150;
  • Following healthy hygiene practices;
  • Downloading and using the SafeWA App and signing in at all venues;
  • If you are unwell or have any symptoms, stay home; and
  • If you have been to any of the exposure sites, get tested and remain home until you have returned a negative test result - more information on exposure sites and testing here

Anyone who has left Perth and Peel since lockdown commenced must abide by the restrictions in place.

All clubs and venues are required to adhere to Government protocols and requirements. Any questions around venue requirements are addressed to Hockey WA General Manager – Operations Graeme Hall – Graeme.Hall@hockeywa.org.au

The health and safety of the community remains Hockey WA’s number one priority.

Further communication will be provided should any of the restrictions change.
