Hockey WA to facilitate Coaching courses throughout October

Hockey WA are delighted to offer two HockeyEd Coaching Education Programs at Perth Hockey Stadium this October.

Across two Wednesday nights, Hockey WA will be on hand to guide participants through HockeyEd's new Development Lead Coach Education Program, as well as the Foundation Lead Coach Education Program in face-to-face workshops at Perth Hockey Stadium.

The programs are directed towards teachers, parents, players and coaches involved in coaching club hockey and developing the performance of individual athletes.

To attend the course, participants must register their attendance for one of the workshops and pay the $50.00 fee, and register online with Hockey Australia.

HockeyED Development Lead Coach Accreditation

The Development Lead Coach Accreditation is aimed at coaches who are beginning to work with intermediate to advanced Junior & Senior players, and those who are working with teams participating in a tournament environment.

Upon completion, you will have the skills and tools to develop participants' skills, foster a positive team environment and provide a safe, fun and inclusive experience.

The accreditation is made up of 4 parts, the first being a series of 4, interactive online modules, then, learners are required to attend a face-to-face workshop, where they will cover the essential technical and tactical skills. The third is an assessment which is conducted whilst coaching a group of players within a team environment.

Assessment can be completed at a full-field game or practice match. The final step is to complete a self-reflection, that will be submitted online via HockeyEd.

HockeyED Foundation Lead Coach Accreditation

The Foundation Lead Coach is the second accreditation in the coaching framework and is targeted at supporting beginner coaches who want to begin creating positive environments for participants and taking the lead of teams.

This accreditation is completed in two parts. The first is an online course that can be completed at any time. Then the second is a face-to-face workshop where you get to implement your learning. The workshop is expected to take approximately 3 hours to complete.
