Indoor hockey to take over Kingsway Stadium

As preparations begin for the indoor hockey season, players are set to flock to Kingsway Stadium to compete in the 2023 Hockey WA Indoor Classic, supported by the City of Wanneroo.

Kicking off on Friday 13 October, three teams across both the men's and women's competitions will compete in a round-robin tournament before the top teams face off in grand finals on Saturday 14 October.

The two-day tournament is set to act as preparation for high-level players for the upcoming indoor club season, as well as a selection opportunity for the Indoor National Championships, which will be taking place in Canberra in January.

Hockey WA performance and pathways manager Trid Woodhouse said the Indoor Ric Charlesworth Classic is an exciting opportunity for high-level players to develop their game ahead of the new club season, and a chance for spectators to come along and watch all the action unfold for free.

"We're looking forward to showcasing the very best indoor hockey has to offer with this year's Classic ahead of what is sure to be an action-packed indoor season," he said.
