Linear Competition Model Review - seeking club representatives

Hockey WA is seeking representatives from a range of clubs of all sizes and geographical locations to assist with the review of the Linear Competition Model Review. Clubs are asked to nominate representatives from their clubs to be part of this comprehensive review process.

The Linear Competitions Model was initially implemented in 2020 during what turned out to be a COVID interrupted season. In committing to the new competition structure, Hockey WA members endorsed that a formal review of the competition model would occur after the third year. With two seasons now completed, it is appropriate that a review advisory group be established to present a draft report to the Board and Hockey WA members in October 2023.

Interested individuals with experience in data analysis, scenario testing, research, risk assessment and policy and procedure preparation are invited to contact General Manager Business Operations Graeme Hall on 0466 381 464 or graeme.hall@hockeywa.org.au. Please include a one-page overview with your club name and a summary of your relevant skills.

The Linear Competition Model Review (Advisory Group) will:

• Engage with the Hockey WA Competition Rules Committee

• Consult with clubs and other stakeholders, including Hockey WA staff

• Report to Hockey WA members via the Hockey WA Board. The review process will require the following:

• Development of a methodology and terms of reference for the Advisory Group • Consideration of Hockey WA’s Strategic Plan

• Producing an evidence-based report • Researching models from other states and countries • Ensuring the sustainability and growth of Hockey.

The Advisory Committee will be required to commence during 2022 and provide an update outlining the project plan to the Hockey WA Board and Members at their respective December meetings.
