NAIDOC Week 2020

Hockey WA would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of this land and thank them for their contributions to the nation and the game of Hockey.

8th-15th November marks NAIDOC Week 2020, giving an opportunity to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

This year’s theme is Always Was, Always Will Be. 

The theme recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for our continent for over 65,000 years; the very first footprints on this continent were those belonging to First Nations peoples.

It also recognises that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people were Australia’s first explorers, first navigators, first engineers, first farmers, first botanists, first scientists, first diplomats, first astronomers and first artists.
