Red-hot Hockey WA Gryphon Cup action sizzling in Perth

The Hockey WA Gryphon Cup has kicked off in red-hot fashion as under-16 sides from across Australia and Asia kick-start their four-day journey to glory.
The Malaysian Sports Schools boys side have had the perfect start to their trip to Australia, opening their account with a 7-0 victory over the Outbacks with five individual goal scorers.
The Chris Ciriello Academy boys side have also started their competition run with a strong 4-0 win over Majulah.
The girls competition has seen some even results thus far with no side claiming a victory by over two goals.
The Chris Ciriello Academy girls have had the strongest start to the contest, defeating the Outbacks 2-0, while the Highlanders remain the only other victors in a 3-2 win over Kuala Lumpur Sports School.
The action continues until Sunday, with fixtures now to be played at Aquinas Turf alongside all the action at Perth Hockey Stadium at Curtin University.
