GREAT SOUTHERN
Upper Great Southern – Narrogin and Surrounds
Narrogin’s Sportspower A Grade competitions remain interesting, with men’s side Warriors yet to break their winning streak, and Wagin women’s side looking strong with four wins from five matches.
Lower Great Southern – Albany and Surrounds
Spencer Park men’s A-Grade side held their spot on top of the ladder, with a 2-0 win over Vikings.
Four of the five matches Spencer Park have played have been wins, and the remaining match was a draw.
Manypeaks men now sit comfortably in second position, after the side defeat North Albany in a huge 5-0 win, however a very different score in the women’s match between the two, when North Albany got 4-0 up on Manypeaks.
The Spencer Park women’s side were able to get the upper hand on Mount Barker, in the A-Grade clash, resulting in a 1-0 win for the home team.
MID WEST
Geraldton
Casuals’ defender Kip Allen joined his two brothers Rhys (308 games) and Brent (268 games) in the ‘200 club’ when he played his 200th A Grade game in Geraldton at the weekend.
All three of the brothers have been integral members of the Casuals team for more than 15 years and despite all having stints away from their hometown, between them they have won 15 A-Grade premierships.
The brothers have also contributed to the club and Geraldton Hockey Association with umpiring, coaching, being members of committees and fundraising.
Adding to the importance of the Allen family to the club, dad Craig, has been the A-Grade team manager for many years, and mum Jenny, is an avid supporter.
SOUTH WEST
Bunbury
In the South West Hockey League, Marist Hockey Club’s women’s side saw its first defeat for the season, when a closely-fought match with Associates resulted in a 1-0 loss.
