GOLDFIELDS-ESPERANCE
Esperance
Esperance locals will have plenty to look forward to this weekend, with the men’s Challenge Cup set to take place this Saturday, July 31.
Rams will take on Condy in the first match of the day at 1:15pm, followed by the spectacle of the day, the Challenge Cup match between Sharks and Castletown.

Eastern Goldfields – Kalgoorlie
The race to finals has begun in Kalgoorlie, with every match becoming more and more important for the sides wishing to come home with the ultimate prize - a flag.
On Friday evening, Mines will take on CBC in both the A1 men’s and women’s competition, the women’s match a replay of the 2021 Challenge Cup, which CBC won 6-0.
Saturday will see yet another double-matchup between Norths and Pegasus in the A1 men’s and women’s leagues at the Goldfields Hockey Stadium.

GREAT SOUTHERN
Lower Great Southern – Albany and Surrounds
Lower Great Southern Hockey Association will be a touch of pink this weekend for the local Cancer Awareness Day on Saturday, July 31.
The Kellie York Memorial, the first feature match of the day will be played between Spencer Park 1 and Spencer Park 2 at 1:45pm, then followed by the Jo Burling Memorial between Spencer Park A and North Albany A at 3:15pm.
All proceeds raised from the day will be donated to charity.

Upper Great Southern – Narrogin and Surrounds
The Upper Great Southern Carnival’s success over the years has been a large part of excitement in WA junior hockey, and this year’s event was no exception.
A huge cohort of teams attended, with the 38 participating sides including the below:

9/10 Mixed: YMCC Red drew with YMCC Green, countback declared YMCC Red champions.
MID WEST
Geraldton
For Mid West teens aged 10 to 16, head to The Irwin Recreation Centre in Dongara on Wednesday, August 21st for the Come and Try hockey event!
Rovers' Jayden Valenti has achieved a notable feat, recently playing his 200th A-Grade match for his side in the Geraldton Hockey League.
PEEL
Mandurah
In the Peel Hockey league this weekend, Saturday will see a men’s Kwinana Tigers Hockey Club derby match between KTHC Red and KTHC Black at 2pm at Orelia, followed by a match between KTHC Red and Mandurah.
Sunday will see Halls Head and Midcity clash at 1pm in the women’s competition, while Midcity’s men’s side will take on Mandurah at 2:30pm at The Sporting Globe Stadium.
Pinjarra’s men’s and women’s sides will play shortly after at 4pm and 5:30pm respectively, the men playing Halls Head and the women, Irwinians.

SOUTH WEST
Bunbury
Four of Bunbury’s very own have made the 2021 State Under 13’s Teams' squads.
Quinn Jones and Phaedrus Liddiard were selected in the boys’ squad, while Waireana Pohe and Elise Andrews were named in the girls’ squad.

In the South West Hockey League, the men’s competition will see Towns/Souths take on Exies, and a second-versus-third clash between Boyanup and Marist will be played out in the afternoon.
The women’s comp will see a top-of-the-table clash between Boyanup and Marist, after a match between Towns/Souths and Exies.

Busselton
The Fuel to Go and Play Goldstix carnival is coming to Busselton on Sunday, August 8, and will be available for children grades 1-6, for more information, please head to the Busselton Hockey Association Facebook page.
In the South West Hockey League, Robins will host Associates in the women, and Wests will take on Associates in the men.
Margaret River

WHEATBELT
Central Wheatbelt - Kalannie
Kalannie Hockey Club hosted ABC radio host Andrew Collins for his Drive show on Wednesday, July 21, in a hilarious one-hour segment.
The hockey club has been recently revived after a huge 15 year hiatus from the field, and this weekend will take part in the Blue Tree Round, which aims to raise awareness around mental wellbeing by assisting to start difficult conversations.

CSBP Wheatbelt Schools Roadshow
Juniors across the state will learn fundamental hockey skills from some of WA's most talented players as part of the CSBP Wheatbelt Schools Roadshow.
East Avon, Eastern Districts, Mortlock and Roe Districts are all hosting the clinics, hopefully boosting regional participation levels.
From late July until early August, clinics will take place around the state with a mixture of schools-based and hockey club sessions.
Once the clinics are complete, CSBP Carnivals will be played in Narrogin, Bruce Rock, Merredin and Northam.
