Second round of men’s Premier League finals set to soar – WATCH LIVE
Published Wed 07 Sep 2022
The second round of men’s Premier League finals action is set to kick off tonight, Wednesday 7 September, at Perth Hockey Stadium at Curtin University.
The opening match is a blockbuster semi-final between first and second-placed Melville and Reds – the winner will book a spot in this year’s Grand Final.
Reds are coming off a two-goal win over Hale in the first round of finals and will be set a significant challenge when they face the team to beat in Melville in a huge finals clash.
Melville has sat in first place for the majority of the season and will look to hit the ground running after a week-long bye.
The loser of the match gets a second chance at finals action, facing the loser of Hale and UWA – the elimination final following the contest.
UWA managed to sneak into fifth on the men’s Premier League standings and haven’t put a foot wrong thus far in the finals series.
UWA are hot off a 4-0 win over Victoria Park and will look to continue their hot form against Hale.
Hale suffered a 2-0 defeat to Reds in the first round of finals, but their form across the season suggests they won’t go down without a fight, with this year’s top goal scorer in Liam Flynn leading the charge.
