Stars to hit the road for CSBP Hockey Festivals

Published Wed 07 Sep 2022

Hockeyroos hero Aleisha Power is joining fellow Commonwealth Games and Perth Thundersticks stars on the road this week as part of Hockey WA’s 2022 CSBP Hockey Festivals.

Hockeyroo Penny Squibb and Australian Under-21 representative Brodee Foster, along with Power, are heading to the regions as part of a Hockey WA-CSBP partnership, which provides high-quality, memorable and engaging hockey experiences for school-aged children in years 2 and 3.

Aleisha is a recent addition to the CSBP Hockey Festival schedule, joining the Northam leg – an appropriate allocation given she is a Northam local!

“We are incredibly excited about continuing to take high-quality hockey coaches and high-profile players to regional areas, such as Aleisha, Penny and Brodee,” Hockey WA CEO Fabian Ross said.

“The CSBP Hockey Festivals provide wonderful opportunities for young children in particular to pick up a stick, play hockey and learn skills from some of our state’s best, including Commonwealth Games representatives like Penny.

“We’re very grateful for CSBP’s support and can’t wait to see the success of these Festivals not just in 2022 but in the years ahead too.”

CSBP Fertilisers General Manager Mark Scatena:

“We’ve seen the enjoyment these hockey events can bring to our regional communities and we’re very excited to provide more opportunities for people to come together to learn and play hockey this year,” Mr Scatena said.

“We’re thrilled to be able to bring key hockey figures from across Western Australia to the CSBP Hockey Festivals. Their presence will bring an added level of excitement which we hope will encourage people to take up hockey and develop new skills in fun and engaging events.”
