Thank you to our WA hockey volunteer heroes

A message to volunteers from Hockey WA CEO, Fabian Ross:

With National Volunteer Week falling this week, I would like to take a moment to thank all the volunteers across hockey in Western Australia and beyond and highlight the importance and impact of volunteers’ commitment to the growth of our sport.

As an industry, we rely on 224,000 volunteers each year, contributing close to 42 million hours of time. For every three participants in sport, there is one dedicated volunteer that ensures the success of their respective sport.

From coaches and officials, to administration, managers, canteen staff and everyone in-between – thank you to all volunteers in hockey that dedicate countless hours to making our sport great.

Without your tireless dedication, our sport ceases to exist.

I encourage everyone in the wider hockey community to thank their volunteers this week, and continue to celebrate them year-round.

Thank you to our volunteers – the heartbeat of hockey.
