Hockey WA is excited to announce the West Australian will stream the 2021 Men’s and Women’s CBH Group Country Championships.
The Men’s Championships will be played at Perth Hockey Stadium from Saturday, June 5 until Monday, June 7, with the Women’s from Friday, 18 June until Sunday, 20 June, and will showcase some of the state’s best regional hockey talent.
Every match scheduled on PHS1 during the tournament will be live streamed through The West’s online subscription service and allows fans from any location to enjoy the three days of men’s hockey.
All of the selected streamed matches will feature high-quality vision, with the finals series also set to include commentary.
The full fixtures for the tournament are yet to be released, however are expected to be revealed by Hockey WA in coming days.
Later in June, select matches from the women’s CBH Group Country Championships will also be broadcast, with more details to be announced at a closer date.
Hockey WA Chief Executive Officer Fabian Ross said the exciting opportunity is promising for hockey lovers everywhere.
“The West Australian providing streaming for the CBH Group Country Championships is great news for hockey fans all over the state,” Ross said.
“Everybody will be able to support and engage with some really exciting hockey across both the men’s and women’s competitions.
“A large cohort of our current Perth Thundersticks and junior state teams began their hockey journey in regional WA, so the event is also a great occasion to identify some of our future stars.”
The West Australian Sports Editor Nick Rynne said the media organisation was looking forward to continuing to serve the WA hockey community.
“We’ve been thrilled to work with Hockey WA over the past year on a range of projects as part of our push to get behind WA sport at every level,” Rynne said.
“We consider the CBH Group Country Championships to be an exciting addition to our streaming roster and we’re really pleased to be able to give country sports lovers the chance to see their athletes in action.”
