Upper Great Southern sets sights on hat-trick of wins

The 2021 CBH Group Women’s Country Championships continues to please fans across Perth Hockey Stadium at Curtin University and Fletcher Park in Victoria Park, with the race to Grand Final positions heating up towards a thrilling finish.

Lower Great Southern is in the box seat heading towards the finals in Division 1, facing second second-placed Upper Great Southern in the Grand Final; LGSHA's form leading them to first place in the division, but a shaky 0-0 draw win in penalties giving UGSHA confidence leading up to the big match.

Roe Districts continues to dominate Division 2, with an 8-1 goal difference seeing the side sit clear in first place heading into finals; Eastern Districts are in second and look to be the likely challengers.

The stacked Division 3 sees CMCHA and Collie reach the Grand Final, after a shootout win and 4-1 drubbing respectively led the teams to the final match, with Collie the favourites after their red-hot finals performance thus far.

UGSHA have made their second Grand Final for the tournament, facing Mortlock in the Division 4 Grand Final, after the region’s second side secured a 1-0 win over EAWHA 2.

CMCHA’s second team has made the Division 5 Grand Final against Donnybrook; Donnybrook finished the regular fixtures in last place in the division, but have skyrocketed to the Grand Final after a 2-0 win over first placed LGSHA 2.

UGSHA continues to dominate this year’s tournament, with their Masters team securing a Grand Final spot against Mortlock; a 20-2 goal difference for UGSHA seeing them land as favourites to take the division after an unbeaten run.

The Women’s Masters Division 2 sees Esperance leading the race thus far, a 10-1 goal difference after five matches showcasing the side’s defensive strength.
