WA Country Teams to clash with Rockingham Redbacks at Lark Hill

Published Fri 07 Jul 2023

The recently announced WA State Country Teams will clash against the Rockingham Redbacks this Saturday, 8 July in preparation ahead of their journey to Shepparton for this year’s Hockey Australia Country Championships in August.

The clashes, set to be held at the Lark Hill Sporting Complex, will provide both the men’s and women’s WA State Country Teams a valuable opportunity to try and test game plans, line ups and strategies ahead of their chance to try and bring home gold from their stint in Shepparton.

Rockingham will provide a fair challenge for both sides, with their current men’s team in Premier Division Two, while the women’s side sits in Premier Division Three.

Rockingham Men’s Head Coach Matthew London is excited to welcome both Country Teams for the clash.

“Rockingham District Hockey Club is excited to host the WA State Country Teams again this year,” London said.

“The clashes provide a great contest for all sides and also provides entertainment and a showing of quality hockey for our community.

“Our men’s and women’s top sides are excited for the challenge as both teams have been working incredibly hard on improving this season.”

The WA hockey community is welcome to attend both matches and see some of regional WA’s best take on Rockingham in these two key clashes.
