WA COUNTRY GOLD MEDAL MATCH

The Hockey Australia Country Challenge will reach a thrilling climax on Saturday 13 August, with the men’s WA side set to compete for the gold medal against Queensland from 3:00pm.

The WA men’s competed in a thrilling 4-3 win over Victoria to claim the placement and will look to challenge the competition’s top side, with hopes to come home with gold.

Men’s Head Coach Lawrie Tylor:

“After conceding a goal in the first minute, the boys knuckled down and fought back hard to take the lead,” Tylor says.

I’m very proud of the team and we are now reaping the rewards of a strong performance culture demonstrated throughout the tournament.

“We will be primed for a real crack at the Gold tomorrow.”
