Hockey WA would like to congratulate a trio of our finest who have been inducted in to Hockey Australia's Hall of Fame class for 2020.
Craig Davies was inducted in to the athlete category, after a stellar career that led to him captaining the Kookaburras.
Craig played for the national side from 1978 to 1991, making 193 appearances and playing an integral role in defence that saw him accumulate a 63 goal tally.
During his tenure, not only did Craig experience the enjoyment of three Olympic games, he also experienced a World Cup winning run in 1986, along with competing at an astounding 13 Champions Trophies.
WA's Elspeth Denning was another inclusion in the athlete category, after a wondrous career for the Australian national side.
Elspeth, as a full back, enjoyed a stunning national career, including multiple Olympic games.
Elspeth was selected for three Olympic Games, earning the Vice-Captain honours along the way and fulfilling this role in Australia's gold medal win in Seoul in 1988.
A defining moment in Elspeth's career was receiving the Order of Australia Honour in 1989.
The final WA inductee was Richard Aggiss under the general category as a coach or official.
A superb player in his own right, Richard had an enormous contribution to the Kookaburra's success in the 1980's when he coached the Kookaburras from 1981-1989; an 80 percent winning record showing the sheer dominance of the side over a 151 game span.
Richard was also the inaugural men's coach for the Australian Institute of Sport's hockey program, with many around the globe seeing the program as the benchmark for hockey development at an elite international level.
Richard currently assists with the development of current hockey coaches, providing a wealth of knowledge through a variety of courses and programs.
